While car prowls have seen a sharp decline this year, residential burglaries are slightly up, according to the most recent safety report from the Redmond Police Department.

According to police, the city averaged 33 car prowls per month in 2012. That’s a 35 percent decline over 2011.

And, police were able to identify a few areas where car prowls were happening more often. So if you’d like to protect your belongings, maybe avoid parking in the Cleveland/Leary Way area or the Northeast 24th Street/148th Avenue Northeast area.

Meanwhile, Redmond averaged eight residential burglaries per month this year, which is a small increase over 2011, according to police.
